York Raceway’s 2NZ
(tuners) Run What You've Brung series for those who want to test their
skills and power against similar performing cars and you can usually get
plenty of track time –with UNLIMITED runs.
If you want to test and tune, sharpen your racecraft, Run What You've Brung
or just have some fun, all you need is a car, a driving license, a helmet
(or borrow one from the track) -and you could be on your way to winning a
nitrous oxide kit!
Most RWYBers prefer to run against another car of comparable performance, so
that's the way the 2NZ classes came about. It originated as 2NZ is the SMS
abbreviation of 'tuners'. Details of the different classes, which cover
everything from modern to retro, are below.
Every round in the season has a trophy awarded for each class for the car
with lowest ET (i.e. quickest car over the quarter mile). There's also a
trophy for the best reaction time (across all the classes), and points for
your reaction times are accrued over the season for the 2NZ Reaction Time
Championship. This way it is open to and equal for all, no matter how fast
or slow your car is. And, as if that weren't enough, the Championship Winner
goes home with a Wizards of Noz nitrous oxide kit -to help you get faster.
Track time
If you want plenty of track time, turn up early and start early -the track
is opens from10am.
York
has world-class TSI timing equipment that gives you a printout of your
reaction time, 60 ft, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile times and speeds to 1/100mph and
1/1000second.
